Lelu Archive is a one-person studio founded by goldsmith Emilia Hokkonen.
Everything is made by hand in her Helsinki studio — designed, cast, soldered, set, and finished by the same person, in small numbers.
The word lelu is described by the dictionary as an object that children play with.
Through Lelu Archive jewelry Emilia has discovered the meaning and value behind child-like self-expression as an adult. These pieces are a wearable reminder that no matter how fast-paced the world gets, one should never forget to play.
That idea shows up in the work itself. Organic shapes pulled from sand casting, pieces that move and articulate on the body, colour set where you don't expect it. Nothing here is meant to sit still or behave.
Playful does not mean disposable. Every piece is made from recycled 925 silver, a material that holds its form and character for decades.
